Non-Licensed Asbestos Removal

Finding asbestos in your property can be worrying, but it doesn’t have to delay your project. At TDSE Services Ltd, we specialise in the safe identification, removal, and disposal of non-licensed asbestos materials.

Serving homeowners and businesses across the UK, we take the panic out of hazardous waste. We operate strictly within HSE (Health and Safety Executive) guidelines, ensuring that you, your family, and the environment are protected from harmful fibres.

What is “Non-Licensed” Asbestos?

Not all asbestos requires a high-level HSE licence to remove, but all asbestos requires expert handling.

“Non-licensed” work typically covers materials where the asbestos fibres are firmly bound within a matrix (like cement or plastic). These materials are lower risk if handled correctly, but can become dangerous if broken or smashed.

We are fully trained and insured to remove:

Asbestos Cement Roofs: commonly found on garages, sheds, barns, and outbuildings.

Floor Tiles & Bitumen: Thermoplastic vinyl tiles and the black bitumen adhesive often found under them.

Textured Coatings (Artex): Decorative coatings on ceilings and walls (subject to condition).

Cement Flues & Water Tanks: Often found in lofts or airing cupboards.

Note: If we identify high-risk materials (such as pipe lagging or loose-fill insulation) that require a fully licensed contractor, we will inform you immediately and can recommend a specialist partner.

Our Removal Process

We do not cut corners. Even for non-licensed work, we apply rigorous safety protocols to prevent fibre release.

1. Assessment & Testing
If you are unsure whether a material contains asbestos, we can arrange for sampling and testing at an accredited laboratory. We never guess; we know.

2. Safe Removal (Controlled Techniques)
Our team wears high-grade Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) and disposable coveralls. We use dust suppression techniques (such as water spraying) and careful dismantling methods—unscrewing rather than smashing—to keep fibres intact and safe.

3. Double-Bagging & Sealing
All asbestos waste is double-wrapped in heavy-duty 1000-gauge polythene or placed in UN-approved hazardous waste bags. These are sealed with warning tape to ensure no contamination occurs during transport.

4. Legal Disposal & Documentation
You cannot take asbestos to the local tip. We transport the waste to a licensed hazardous waste transfer station. crucial for your records (and for selling your house), we provide a full Hazardous Waste Consignment Note proving the material was disposed of legally.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are you fully insured?

Absolutely. We hold comprehensive Public Liability and Employers’ Liability Insurance. We operate under strict UK Health & Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines, ensuring our team and your property are fully protected.

Do you offer free quotations?

Yes. We are happy to visit your site to assess the work required and provide a free, no-obligation written quotation. We believe in transparent pricing with no hidden costs.

Do I need planning permission to demolish a building?

Not always. Demolition of many small residential outbuildings (like garages or sheds) falls under Permitted Development rights. However, demolishing a house or a building in a Conservation Area usually requires Prior Approval from your local council. We can advise you on the likely requirements during our site visit, but we always recommend checking with your local planning officer.

Do I need to disconnect utilities before demolition?

Yes. Gas, electricity, and water supplies must be safely disconnected and capped off by the relevant utility providers before we begin structural demolition. We can help coordinate this process to ensure the site is safe for our team.

What happens to the rubble and waste?

We operate a "recycle first" policy. Brick and concrete are often crushed on-site or taken to a facility to be turned into hardcore/aggregate. Timber and metals are segregated for recycling. We aim to send as little as possible to landfill.

What is "Ground Remediation"?

Put simply, it is fixing "bad ground." If your plot has poor soil, contamination, or old rubble buried underneath, we remove the problem material and replace or cap it with certified crushed concrete or stone. This ensures your new build doesn't sink or suffer from subsidence.

Client Reviews

"We hired TDSE Services Ltd to demolish our old garage, which had an asbestos roof, and prepare the ground for a new garden room. I was worried about the asbestos, but the team put my mind at ease immediately. They handled everything safely, provided all the disposal paperwork, and left the site absolutely spotless. The new concrete base they poured is millimetre perfect. Professional, polite, and turned up exactly when they said they would. Highly recommended for anyone in the Deal area."
